Hooray for Brian!
Three cheers for the new Montana governor. I've been reading about this guy and he seems like a real firecracker. I've also read that the Democrats are close to getting control of the state House and Senate. Does anyone have numbers on that?

1. We have the Senate and the last I heard
We were 49 to 50 repubs in the house with one yet up in the air. So we could tie there. Major gains in the legislature due to a good liberal turn out and redistricting - Montana redistricts every 10 years and they switch between the Repubs and the Demos as to who gets to do it. This is the first General Election in 10 years that we got to district (gerrymander) our way.

2. That was some great gerrymandering!
I thought I read somewhere that you have one state rep that is Constitution Party. Could that be the 101? It would seem odd to have an even house unless there is a tie breaker somewhere outside of the House.

3. Not that I know of
but that's a good question.

Yeah, both parties are pretty good at drawing up advantages districts.

I now have a Demo Senator and a demo representitive for the first time where I live.

4. There are 100 reps
I think it turned out that the last race was won by the Constitution Party, making the House, 50-49-1 GOP, BUT that race was won by the CP by 2 votes vs the Dem, and she's asking for a recount (which of course is the right thing to do). There are 50 Senate districts and each senate district is cut into two House districts.
