"But were Montanans outraged at the same level as folks in New York City or in other vulnerable cities? Frankly, is al-Qaida coming to Montana? It would be a bad idea for them to come here. To start with, if they show up here and start making some trouble, somebody's just going to shoot their asses and ask questions later."
I don't get that. Is he trying to say New Yorkers didn't care that planes were being flown into buildings in their cities killing thousands? Were they supposed to get out their huge rifles and shoot at it? This guy's probably among those Montanans whose never been to the city, because they are some pretty badass motherfuckers in that town, and they don't like being messed with. Throughout the whole interview he seems to have a certain negative tone towards "East and West Coast liberals." I think he's a very good and smart guy, but I see no need to refer to New York city as some kind of wimpy, hippie place.
