So I saw Dean last night
The Montana Democratic Party state convention was this weekend and my fiancee and I went up last night for the Dean cocktail hour ($125 for both of us total - kinda steep, but worth it in the end). There were only about twenty of us in the room for the first 15 minutes or so, so I chatted with the man for a bit. He's great, as I expected. Told him to keep up the great work that he's doing and that I love what he's doing for the party.

The dinner was as expected - if you've seen any of Dean's speeches on CSPAN you know the message he's spreading. The MDP received it well, whistling and cheering.

Afterward, we headed over to Club Cigar for the Big Sky Democrats get together. It was a lot of fun and I met a lot of neat people in the Montana Dem Party. I'm excited to be getting involved with the party here in Helena, and I encourage any of you that are interested to drop me a line or contact Jodi at the MDP HQ. Lots of changes are going on in the state party right now, and it's a really exciting time to be a part of it. 2006 is fast approaching, and we have a lot of work to do between now and then.

2. I saw him speak twice in person
Didn't get close to him either time. My little brother stood onstage behind him, he got called up to be in the background with other Dean supporters. It was cool though. Dean is one of those guys that makes you want to go out and change the world. He's fun to listen to.

Thanks for sharing your story. Sounded like a blast.
