Gee, and his former aide is their only registered lobbyist too. So, NOBODY wants a check from Burns or is it just that nobody wants to become suspect in possible further laundering of Abramoff monies?

To the wise folks who declined the dubious contribution and told Burns 'No thanks'- BRAVO!

If Burns wants to 'return the money' why doesn't he just try giving it back to the tribes Abramoff talked into sending it to Burns in the first place? How hard is it to figure out that 'returning the money' means give it back to the folks who shelled it out?

1. I was born in Conrad, havocmom.
Which tribal council turned him away?

2. Montana Wyoming Tribal Leaders Council

Here's a Billings Gazette piece about Burns' plans to give them the dough

And here's a link to some of my concerns about this 'giving the money to charity' schtick all the GOP pols are pulling

Yeah, I remembered you were from Montana. Hey, anybody see wild man wetzelbill around here lately? I really miss his wit at a time like this.

edited to add: Glad the Tribal Council backed out of accepting. Burns looks pretty sad, holding the bag ;) Poor guy can't give money away!

He has a command of the language that I envy.

I glad that the Senator is left holding the bag! LOL

My all time favorite senator is Mike Mansfield.

Ah, the good old days.

Hope you and the havoc family are having a comforatble winter.

Go Griz!

4. It's so comfortable that I need to get my ass out and pull weeds!
Hey, has the U started for the new semester down there? Most of the havoc clan is so close to you that you have probably been in line with one or two at the Safeway!

5. Billings Gazette has nice index of Burns/Abramoff related links
Includes articles in the newspaper, multimedia file links, and documents file links

Also more on the tribal council that said no thanks to the $$. Sure, they could put the money to good use, but they are wise enough to know they must hold to their own ethical standards. Great dignity in that sort of stand.

Poor Conrad, he's waving bags of money around and nobody wants to play with him anyway.
