Bush tentatively planning to visit Nebraska

WASHINGTON - President Bush is tentatively planning to visit Nebraska next week to talk about the need for immigration legislation, according to people familiar with the planning.
The president has tentative plans to speak in Nebraska on Wednesday, said the sources, speaking on the condition of anonymity.
"It's fairly certain," one said.
If Bush visits, he likely would seek to build support for broad immigration legislation that includes new border security measures, a guest worker program and a proposal to allow millions of undocumented immigrants now living in the United States a path to eventually earn citizenship.
The Senate last week approved a plan with those features, which was co-authored by Sen. Chuck Hagel, R-Neb. Hagel strongly endorses Bush's position.
