I registered to be a Douglas County delegate next Saturday.
Dear Steven,
Beginning today, Democrats throughout the state will be gathering with their neighbors at more than 60 county conventions.
County parties will be critical to our success in November. Representing the Nebraska Democratic Party on the local level, it is through the hard work of county officers and active members that the real work of our party gets done.
As you know, we are focused on building an infrastructure throughout the state, in every county and every precinct. This is evident through our 93 County Strategy and the hard work that has resulted from that plan. Your State Party staff has traveled to all corners of Nebraska, meeting with local leaders. They have developed work plans with these leaders and have assisted in many ways to translate our strategy into reality.
The result will be seen in the coming days. In 2004, 36 county conventions met in Nebraska. This year, there will be 61.
If you haven't had a chance to find out when and where your convention is, go to the Event Center on our website:

I sincerely hope you will be able to make it to your county's convention. This is a critical time for us. As we head to November, we need to network with each other and come together, united with one purpose - to elect Democrats to office at every level of government. It all begins with you, and the people in your county.
Warm Wishes,
Steve Achelpohl
