AT&T would like to divide the internet into fast lanes and slow lanes. If that's allowed, then this website may be in the slow lane.
Supporters of the internet as it is today advocate "Net Neutrality" - stopping comapnies like AT&T from creating fast lanes and slow lanes.
The Democrats are holding up the Telecommunications Bill until "Net Neutrality" is added. But Repbulican Ted Stevens is
trying to pass the bill without "Net Neutrality."
Sen. Ted Stevens (yes, THAT Sen. Stevens) is trying to pull a fast one, and get a cloture vote on net neutrality before Congress is scheduled to recess this week. He’s been buttonholing three Senators in particular to gain their cloture vote:
– Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas
– Ben Nelson of Nebraska
– Joe Lieberman of Connecticut
Please ask Ben Nelson to support "Net Neutrality" and the hold on the Telecommunications Bill until tough "Net Neutrality" laws are added.
