http://www.nebraskademocrats.org/page/s/2007DinnerWhen one looks to the history of our Nebraska Democratic Party, many names come to mind. Our Party has a rich history, due to the tireless efforts of people like Senator Jim Exon, Senator Ed Zorinsky, Governor Frank Morrison and Nebraska’s Senator Ben Nelson.
There is no doubt that Senator Bob Kerrey makes that list as well. In his service to our state as Governor and U.S. Senator, Bob made a tremendous impact on our quality of life as Nebraskans. Through his leadership, he undoubtedly grew our Party to a place of prominence.
Since leaving the U.S. Senate, Senator Kerrey has continued to have an impact on our state, our nation and our world. Through his service on the 9/11 Commission, Kerrey held our country’s top officeholders accountable for their actions leading up and following the 9/11 tragedy.
He continues to support candidates and our Party as a whole by traveling back to Nebraska regularly, sharing his memories of the past and his hopes for the future.
Today, I’m pleased to announce that Senator Kerrey will headline the 2007 Morrison-Exon Day Dinner at the Hilton Omaha on Saturday, June 23.

In addition to Senator Kerrey, the dinner will feature Nebraska’s Senator Ben Nelson and Democratic elected officials from throughout the state. It will be a tremendous opportunity for us to gather, celebrating our past and looking to the future with great enthusiasm.
This is our Party’s largest fundraising event of the year. We depend on the proceeds from the Morrison-Exon Day Dinner to help fund our activities in all corners of Nebraska during and between critical election cycles. I sincerely hope you can join us.
