Republican Senate candidates to debate in Lincoln
LINCOLN — The Republican candidates for Senate have agreed to debate in Lincoln.
Mike Johanns and Pat Flynn will take the stage at 5:30 p.m. Monday at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Lincoln.
Flynn is a Schuyler businessman making his first bid for public office. Johanns is a former Nebraska governor and former U.S. agriculture secretary.
The debate is sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Lincoln-Lancaster County. The league says a debate by Democratic Senate hopefuls was canceled because only Larry Marvin was able to attend.
Tony Raimondo and Scott Kleeb, two other Democratic Senate candidates, have agreed to debate next month, although the date is not yet certain.
