Face-to-face contacts key part of Kleeb's campaign

LINCOLN — Democrat Scott Kleeb walked away thinking he had picked up a vote after charming a man at a Lincoln senior citizens center.
Terry Heany, eating lunch Thursday at the center, said he had considered supporting Columbus businessman Tony Raimondo for the U.S. Senate.
But Heany, a math instructor, changed his mind after talking about education with Kleeb.

There was only one problem.
Heany, 61, is a registered Republican and cannot vote for Kleeb in Tuesday's primary election.
"In the fall, I'll vote for you," Heany told Kleeb, who made sure he didn't leave the encounter empty-handed.
