http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_page=2798&u_sid=10430297Douglas County Board member Mike Boyle was ticketed by Omaha police at a Barack Obama campaign rally Wednesday after Boyle blocked a truck displaying graphic placards showing aborted fetuses.
The incident occurred during the evening rush hour near a new Obama campaign office at 76th and Cass Streets.
Officer Michael Pecha, an Omaha police spokesman, said Boyle was ticketed because he had created a traffic hazard.
"Because of the long backup that was being caused, the officer requested he move," Pecha said. Boyle refused twice, Pecha said, and was ticketed before pulling out of the way.
The traffic ticket carries a potential fine of $10 and $44 in court-related costs.
Boyle said he blocked the truck on 76th Street, just off of Dodge Street, when he saw a woman on the side of the street trying to prevent her young daughter from seeing the signs.
