Nelson sees Johanns in rear mirror
Maybe you've had your fill of politics for a while, but take a peek at 2006:

Ben Nelson, 41 percent; Mike Johanns, 38 percent.

Those are the findings of a World-Herald Poll on a possible U.S. Senate showdown that Nebraskans could see in two years.

As the numbers suggest - within the poll's margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points - the potential race pitting two political powerhouses already is shaping up as a titanic struggle.

2. That's just disturbing
I don't know anyone that likes Johans and I know alot of NE wingnuts. Sad that they can be so partisan. They won't even give a dem a chance. I think Nelson is doing an excellent job representing Nebraska.

3. well...
he may be better than Johanns but im not sure Ben is being a good democrat. http://www.vote-smart.org/bio.php?can_id=CNIP0639

Scroll down and look at his voting, he sides more with the president than the party...

4. We're going to lose this one, unless
Nelson can overcome the "Ben Nelson Tax" barrage that's going to come his way.

5. This will be a Johann win....
this state is so redskin....all the way to its football...it will be difficult for Nelson to keep a firm lead.

6. But if Ben actually is named Ag Secretary...
the Dems have a chance to field someone else.

May I suggest Kim Robak? She has state-wide recognition and is highly regarded in outstate Nebraska as well as in the Lincoln and Omaha areas.

Does anyone know what her plans are since she got passed over for the university post?
