Republicans fail to reap expected harvest from highlighting $145 million tab.
The Nebraska Republican Party decided this week to harvest a little political capital at the expense of U.S. Sen. Ben Nelson, D-Neb. The harvest never really got off the ground, though, before the Republicans were in apparent disarray and Nelson was coming off as the aggrieved.
