I read on the wire services that small towns in Nebraska are passing laws that will not allow any sex offenders to live within their city limits. Is this true?
How stupid it is to further marginalize an individual and expect him to be rehabilitated.

1. Not exactly true. Some communities our considering laws |

that would not allow sex offenders to live within a certain distance of schools, parks or place where children regularly play. This problem is that in many communities this would include everywhere.

It is ludicrous. Most people don't realize that those laws are superificial in nature and won't do a darn thing as most of those people have cars and can drive good distances. It's another empty-fell-good bill that most people only look at superfically.

The NE laws are in retaliation to Iowa passing the laws. The small NE towns do not want all of the sex offenders to come over from the Iowa border towns.
Iowa was stupid for starting this debacle and NE is stupid for following the leader.
Does anyone else notice how often NE seems to follow the leader rather than be the leader? This is one example of many.
Eventually the laws will be ruled unlawful by the courts. The laws are from the right wing nut jobs.
