David Hahn, a Lincoln businessman and attorney with no previous political experience, said Wednesday that he will run for governor as a Democrat.
Hahn, who said he will file Thursday, will become the first Democrat to enter the race. There are three Republicans running - Gov. Dave Heineman, U.S. Rep. Tom Osborne and Omaha businessman Dave Nabity.
"I just don't see any innovative and firm leadership in the right direction from any of the candidates on the Republican side," Hahn said in an interview late Wednesday. "Right now it's just a focus on who can fill out more tax cuts without any firm understanding of how we're going to pay for that."
Hahn works as an attorney and the CEO of the Lincoln-based New Digital Group, which specializes in building online publishing networks. He is also publisher of the online newspaper Statepaper.com, which started in 1999 and covers Nebraska news.
