Nevada's North-South Split
I still say that just a few Sequoias without printers in Vegas could have come up with the 21,000 plus split that put Bush over Kerry.

(Nov. 3) -- The general election highlights what you can call a political civil war in our state. It's one that pits north versus south, making it difficult for campaigns to make an effective battle plan.

It's a story of population, power and money. Campaigns that came out on the short end of the stick last night are now working to figure out what happened. In some cases, victory seemed assured. But a growing political split between Clark County, and the rest of the state, is leaving a lot of people bewildered.

John Kerry's campaign had internal polling showing their man within striking distance of winning Nevada. When it was all said and done Kerry won Clark County, but lost every other county. "We see this in a lot of western states, there's this urban-rural divide." Kerry's Nevada campaign manager Sean Smith is shaking his head. He oversaw both urban and rural campaign plans, but their rural plan failed. "You've got to win these states in a presidential contest you can't just win specific voters."
