2. Reid '08?
I haven't really heard his name thrown out there. But now that you say it, I think we'd keep the Pacific Kerry states and pick up Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico. That'd be a win right there. . .

12. Not Harry Reid...
Here's an interesting and annoying link: http://democrats.senate.gov/faith.html

And I hope everyone realizes Harry Reid forced the Shoshonis to accept money they DIDN'T WANT TO ACCEPT for the land the government stole from them based on the Treaty of Ruby Valley. http://www.nativeweb.org/pages/legal/shoshone/ruby_vall...

Why does this matter besides it being racist and oppressive toward natives? The Shoshoni land we're talking about is YUCCA MOUNTAIN. All he would have had to do is support the Shoshoni wishes to maintain their rights to the land the federal government has stolen from them in order to stop all Yucca Mountain plans or at least slow it. But instead, he pushes this money on them, thus pulling the rug out from underneath any arguments that would stop Yucca Mountain. And at the same time, he's stating he's AGAINST plans to contaminate Yucca Mountain with tons of nuclear waste from states with irresponsible energy policies.

Hey- I know! Let's elect him president!

Nevada Resident who's HAD IT with our Democratic Party.

3. Only if they fix the problem with those old Sequoias in the City of LV!
They are still there and I predict that our illustrious Secretary of State who bought the rest of the state the new papertrailed Sequioas knows you can't verify the final totals on those old machines and will use it to his favor in '06 if Gibbons doesn't try to ....or Beers.

5. I hope your are right!
:kick: some ass. The west must all unite and rid this world of the neocon-victs. Make America what it used to be, great and free from the fools on the hill! Kind of sounds like a 60's song by the Beattles, puts an age on me.

6. Sorry folks, it depends on turn out...
...the rural counties turn out in higher percentages than the cities. That is how Kerry lost here in 2004. The "rage" about the Iraq war doesn't penetrate to the rural counties because most of them don't have nation guard troops or reserves in those counties (not enough density of population to support units.)

As long as the Republicans don't regulate mining or ranching, the hinterland is going to love them. Plus they think they are being patriotic in supporting their pResident. (of course with no skin in the game...)

7. True, but Kerry Didn't Exactly Dominate In Vegas
Sure, he won it, but that was the only county in NV that he carried. And he lost by 3%. So yeah, I think that the rural NV counties (and most likely Reno and Carson City) are turning against Bush. Now, we just have to present a strong message through electable candidates and we'll sail to victory not only in Nevada, but in America in 2006 and 2008.

8. True Kerry did not dominate Las Vegas...
...but then again I was a Deaniac till Howard dropped out.

The issues must be crystal clear. We cannot afford (again) to be Republican-Lites. We must punch AND counter-punch with quickness and ferocity. The issues must be core to the campaign, we can not allow the Republican noise machine to drown the message.

I want Paul Hackett !!!

9. Kerry Won Vegas 52-47%
And just lost the state by 3%. Mark my word, Nevada will be blue in 2008. Now, I just have to work on my state... really hard.

fair elections, Nevada is doable for the Democrats in 2008.

Here in Washoe County, Kerry/Edwards lost by only around 6,000 votes, about half as many as Gore did in 2000 (Gore didn't campaign in the state).

That's pretty impressive, considering the county is one of the most Republican in the country.
