Help out a fellow Dem!
Hello everyone...passing this along for a good friend and fellow Democrat, Beth Monk in Las Vegas aka 'Backseat Beth' on 96.3 KKLZ...

Please help her out!!

You can vote here: http://www.ktnv.com/Global/story.asp?S=5527392

-----------
So I made it to the finals for the TV Traffic reporter on KTNV Channel 13 Las Vegas. They played my demo on Monday and are playing the rest of the candidates until Thursday. But, I need your help to get to the next round. I need as many people as possible to vote for me by going to http://www.ktnv.com/ by Friday and voting for me. Five people will be eliminated this weekend after the votes are counted and the rest do in studio auditions. Please Forward this message to as many people as possible because it is my dream to be in both tv and radio and this would be a great step towards pursuing my newsreporter goals.

Thanks for all the help,

Beth Monk

Mayor Goodman speaks about radio station homeless feeding

Aug 1, 2006 10:44 AM CDT

(snip)

England, Malaysia and South Africa are just a few of the places where Las Vegas is making headlines because of the ban on feeding the homeless in city parks. As we saw Monday, some of the Mayor's critics deliberately stirred up some publicity of their own.

(snip)

Beth Monk was the first to get a ticket that carries a fine up to $1,000. Mayor Goodman is not amused with this deliberate attempt to violate the city's new ban on feeding the homeless.

(snip)

Beth Monk insists it wasn't a publicity stunt, but was intended as a protest against Las Vegas' most aggressive move on those living on the streets. Earlier this month City leaders outlawed feeding the homeless in public parks to stop them from gathering in large groups and to steer them towards community shelters.
