WOLFEBORO — Police welcome any information about roofing nails found in the driveways of Democratic supporters on Election Day morning.
"It is fairly obvious it was politically motivated," said Lt. Brian Black, who is serving as interim police chief. He added it went beyond the lines of a mere prank due to the potential danger flat tires or puncture wounds could cause.
Black said all of the victims had Kerry-Edwards signs in their yards. Black said police received no reports of injury, but a couple of vehicles had flat tires.
Black said the perpetrators could be charged with criminal mischief or reckless conduct, both misdemeanors. He added the charges would be amplified if damage from the nails lead to an accident.
Anyone with information can contact police at 569-1444.
