As the son and grandson of rape victims I find your excuse of potential rape as deeply offensive. If you know anything about me you know that I am a gay man and your "fear" of being raped by me is certifiably insane.
I offer to have an actual conversation regarding your concerns and you instead attack me with bile filled hate. Right out of the GOP playbook if you ask me.
You would rather rant and rave, and make accusations, than have a mature discussion and work for change. You keep saying you learn more from your critics than your sycophants but you absolutely refuse to have an intelligent discussion. Perhaps you are just repeating something you don't understand.
What kind of logic are you using when you accuse me of trying to "silence you" when I offered to meet with you to discuss your concerns? That is called "empowering" not "silencing".
I do sense a significant amount of anger in your words and that make me sad if you truly are a New Hampshire progressive.
I have spent my entire life fighting and working for progressive action in New Hampshire. I gave 18 years of my life to serve in the NH House voting for liberal causes my constituents did not support, I have served on boards, been arrested at demonstrations and done every kind of action to promote our issues. Your rants are very offensive to me.
Your attack on me for supporting Lieberman is curious. In February 2003 when I made my choice, every major Democratic candidate had the same position on the war, so the war was not a deciding factor for me. Lieberman has a 100% voting record from NARAL, AFL-CIO, HRC, Sierra Club and many others. His actual voting record has him far from the most conservative Democrat. In reality, his record is more progressive than Howard Dean's as governor.
Thirty years ago next month, Joe Lieberman as a Connecticut state senator, spoke eloquently about his support for gay rights. Check out my op-ed piece regarding my support for Lieberman:
http://www.baywindows.com/news/2003/12/04/Opinion/Guest.Opinionjoe.Lieberman.A.Record.Of.Integrity-571680.shtmlEvery great leader for progressive change has had a vision articulated with words of hope, optimism and encouragement. Their strength of character, leadership and success inspired me since I was a seven year old and started volunteering for campaigns and causes. Your anger and hate are the exact opposite of anyone who has successfully worked to make progressive change. You are either a GOP troll or someone I pity.
