I decided earlier this week: I'm going to prepare and execute a full-court press with one of my former radio employers to make the case for flipping an underperforming Atlantic City market station to Progressive Talk/Air America. (Please don't speculate which one, I'd like to avoid as many rumors as possible, which might hamper my efforts.)
First step is going to be preparing a hell of a proposal and presentation. I'm going to need to be ready to counter as many arguments as possible against AAR. Please pretend you're a Fundy/Freeper (even though the management at this company isn't REALLY that way) station manager, and fire as many objections as possible. And feel free to offer opinions and arguments FOR the flip as well.
My basic intention is probably going to be this: local morning show (to deal with local issues and provide more local avails) from 6-9, AAR lineup (automated) otherwise. For the weekends, don't know yet, but will try to get more local programming on. Tailor your arguments thusly.
Second, right when I'm ready to make my pitch, I'd like to seed the idea in their heads. I'll need to line up some people to do some suggestive letter writing and phone calls to the company. If you'd like to do that, speak up and I'll PM you when/if it gets to that point.
And any other ideas folks in here have to hopefully make this a successful endeavor, please jump in. Thanks.
