ROCKAWAY -- They stood in a circle inside the gazebo on Wednesday, clutching their flickering candles and softly singing, "Where Have All the Flowers Gone?"
After the song, the group of about 70 stood in silence. Some bowed their heads or closed their eyes.
Many also held signs with messages that included "Before One More Mother's Child Is Lost,""Meet With Cindy," and "Why Did They Die?"
The occasion was a vigil to express support for Cindy Sheehan, the mother of Army Spc. Casey Sheehan, who was killed in Iraq. Sheehan has been holding her own vigil for her dead son near President Bush's ranch in Crawford, Texas, since Aug. 6, seeking an audience with the president.
