Hey NJ'ers did you know that we have a really good solar

reimbursement program? I was watching Comcast News (which I never do). They had a segment on recent solar converted residents.

I wasn't really paying attention, so, I'll give you the highlights that I remember. The avg. cost is $40,000-$70,000. They showed a homeowner receiving a $46,000+ check, I'm guessing he was closer to the high end. There are only 3 states with aggressive programs like this NJ, CA and I missed the other.

I live in a condo, so this is not an option. I just thought I'd put this out there, especially, with the way things are going these days.

Any idea what agency handles this? Can it be self installed or must it be installed by a state licensed contractor I wonder?

3. It is state paid, but I don't know the details! God, my love/hate

relationship with this state is amazing. If we keep this kicked, maybe some other DU'ers will pressure their states on this matter. I just couldn't believe it. I live in a condo, so can't take advantage, but I had never heard this before, anywhere, and I watch the news!

4. Forgot to post this tidbit, Apparently, roof solar panels have a

25 year life span. I don't know, if the roof's need to be replaced before the panels wear out that is a point to be discussed. However, one of the solar converted said something weird too. The story said 70% of his energy usage was covered from the panels (BIG house), but he enjoyed getting checks from the electric company.

My guess, is, when the sun is out, he gets more than he needs, when it isn't, he has to pay.

5. Wind power, too

There's a guy near Pittstown (at least I can see it from Pittstown) that's got a huge windmill generator. The article in the paper said he got a large part of it (tens of thousands) back from the state.

8. Dude, think about it. Take a home equity line of credit, write off

the residual costs (tax write offs), and no monthly bills. The line of credit payments (tax write offs) will be less than the normal energy bills (no write offs). Then live utility charge free for years.

It's the Repub. way, take advantage of the system, anyway you can to not pay taxes. If we learn their schemes, we could beat them by avoiding taxes the same way they do. I never had a problem with paying taxes, because if everyone paid their fair share and people lived better, it was worth it. They don't even want to pay their fair share, so, let's beat them at their own game.

With the energy costs the way they are, you could seriously come out out with great savings.
