Star-Ledger StaffFormer President Bill Clinton heaped praise on Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jon Corzine last night during a campaign rally inside a packed sports arena at Kean University in Union. Over the course of 20 minutes of unscripted remarks, Clinton called the U.S. senator smart, capable, strong, honest, good, bright, an agent of change, a winner. In less capable hands, it might have been overkill; in Clinton's familiar, butter-sweet drawl, with a raucous crowd of 3,000 singing backup, it was pitch-perfect political poetry.
