Vote No on 1, Yes on 2.
There is no salary or job description for Lietenant Governor position as described. And there are very specific numbers on cleaning up very specific environmental problem in question 2.

That's my understanding. I'm posting here to see if anybody disagrees with me. All of the editorials throughout the state newspapers have the same opinion on question 1, but I'm having trouble finding anything about question 2.

Here's something from NJPIRG supporting Question 2: http://njpirg.org/NJ.asp?id2=12783&id3=NJ&

Can we talk about it here?

Sorry for the short notice.

1. The League of Women Voters of NJ explains each ballot question ...
and lists the reasons to vote "yes" and reasons to vote "no"

2. I agree with you
The first question is too vague. Supposedly, if it passes, the lieutenant governor will hold some cabinet-level position. But like you said, there's no precise salary or job description for the position, which could mean the office of lieutenant governor could be another no-show job on the state payroll.

Question 2 should pass. I believe that it basically boils down to "cleaner air and no new taxes", which sounds fine to me. :)

4. I voted yes on #1.
I don't think it's a perfect bill, but it is one that is necessary. The experience of acting Governor Codey aside, I believe that in general a separation of powers is essential to good Government.

One should recall the ridiculous experience after Christy the coal girl went to Washington, when we were playing "Governor for a day." It made our state look as bad as California.

8. I voted No b/c of the special election requirement
Just serve out the darned term and not have a special election! I was a poll challenger today for the first time in Essex County. Many people were asking the poll workers about these complicated ballot questions. One poll worker was telling people that it was a vote for a Lt Governor and people were understandably favorable to that. After this happened a few times, I gave him more details about the ballot question and he stopped giving the on sentence response to people, which was positive. I expect it will pass b/c people are not reading the details or paying attention to the opinions of those who have. Both questions are wordy and complicated, so it is understandable.
