Looks like my GOP scum buckets stole these elections. No way in hell did the Green Party candidate get 18,784.

"Republicans faced one of their strongest challenges in years from the well-financed campaign of Democrats Rebecca Aaronson and Barbara McMorrow, and from the gutsy grassroots effort of Green Party candidate Brian Unger.

The final unofficial vote tally was: Barham, 83,235; Burry, 81,440; McMorrow, 79,757; Aaronson, 77,406; and Unger, 18,784.

The Democrats refused to concede defeat. Cathleen Lewis, campaign manager for the Democrats, said, "Right now we are at a neck-and-neck race with the Republicans, which we haven't seen in 15 years. The Democrats are optimistic they can close Club Monmouth at the end of the day."<http://www.app.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20051108/NEWS/51108099>

Panter and Morgan beat the forever held GOP Assembly seats in 2003, now the GOP stole the seats. No way in hell did these guys lose.

"Republican Assembly candidates Jennifer Beck and Declan O'Scanlon today defeated incumbents Michael Panter and Dr. Robert Morgan in an election victory that that will return the 12th district to the GOP rule that previously dominated it for three decades.<http://www.app.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20051108/NEWS/51108052>

The Democrats, however, refused to concede last night.

3. How so?
I live in Monmouth County (Freehold Borough) and am as disappointed as you by the results of the freeholder & Assembly races; however, I don't understand this allegation of a stolen election. We still vote on the ye olde style mechanical lever machines; aren't they cited as virtually tamper proof? And the local paper (Asbury Park Press) endorsed the Green Party candidate and urged a bullet vote for him alone... these results look exactly like that is what happened.

O'Scanlon is really bad news (remember, he's the guy who got the unqualified girl a $60K job as a "press officer" w/ the sheriff's office - her resume was "College Degree" and "worked on O'Scanlon's last campaign"), but I don't think this election is challengable. :(

4. Every machine is "tamperable", to different degrees.
Where there is a will, there is (often) a way.

It's not impossible.

Asbury Park Press Projects 217 Vote Victory

The Democrats have not yet conceded because only 217 votes separated O'Scanlon from Panter. The Democrats point to a malfunctioning voting machine in Marlboro that would propel Panter to victory. Unofficial results showed Beck received 31,299 votes;O'Scanlon, 30,316; Panter, 30,099 and Morgan, 30,035.

Race up in the air

NO 2ND WINNER YET IN MONMOUTH'S 12TH DISTRICT: O'Scanlon, Panter await final counts

Monmouth County Clerk M. Claire French said official results won't be announced until Tuesday at the earliest. Roughly 800 provisional ballots were cast in Monmouth County, whose towns are divided into parts of four legislative districts. French said the ballots in the 12th District ruled valid could be the deciding factor in the race.

The provisional vote totals in the two Mercer County towns included in the 12th District could not be ascertained Wednesday.

"My heart goes out to both candidates and their families, because it's hard to go on not knowing if they are the winners," French said.

At 3 p.m. Wednesday, the Panter camp released a statement claiming victory, yet the numbers given to support the claim did not match those given by the Monmouth County Board of Elections or the Marlboro Township Clerk's Office. By 5 p.m., Panter campaign manager Dan Reilly retracted the numbers he released, saying there were "problems" with them.
