To the People of the 4th Congressional District of the State of New Jersey,
My name is Carol Gay and I would like to represent you in the United States House Of Representives.
People who know me will say that I am a hard working, issue committed, and progressive individual.
I can tell you that I am dedicated to social and economic justice.
I believe Government should reflect the will of the people, and sadly, that is not the case today.

The Bush agenda must be challenged, and for that reason, I am running as the Democratic candidate for U.S. Congress in the 4th Congressional District of NJ.
I have the courage to speak out against the culture of corruption permeating the Bush Administration and the halls of Congress. I am dedicated to ending this immoral and illegal war and making sure that the U.S. doesn’t start another unprovoked, unnecessary war in the Middle East, or anywhere else.

My campaign will be about working families’ issues: universal single payer healthcare for all, an effective, affordable Medicare Rx plan, protecting Social Security, restoring civil liberties, ensuring a quality education for all, protecting and improving the rights of workers to organize and attain retirement security, stopping the outsourcing of jobs, defending a woman’s right to choose, and defending immigrant rights and gay rights. I will work to achieve a cleaner, safer environment through energy independence, and I will fight to protect and improve initiatives for clean air and clean water. I will work to achieve verified voting because the future of our Democracy is at stake. I will work to repeal tax cuts for the wealthy, redirecting tax dollars to benefit all of us, not just the privileged few. I pledge to oppose all Congressional raises until we secure a living wage for all. We need a fresh perspective and we need a change in direction now.

With your help, I can be that fresh voice. Together we can build a better, safer, and more peaceful world. Together we can clean the House! And remember, a victory for the Democrats will mean that Nancy Pelosi will be Speaker of the House next January, not Dennis Hastert. I hope you will share this vision with others and ask them to support me too.

We cannot allow the Bush agenda to go unchallenged, and I am the candidate who not only can stand up to that failed agenda, but also lead a movement for social and economic justice.
