U.S. Congressman Rush Holt (D-NJ) will join students at Princeton University on May 5th at 12:30pm in calling for sustained and responsible attention to the survivors of Hurricane Katrina.
Congressman Holt will join a Princeton rally on campus at Firestone plaza ongoing since 29 March. Students at the University have been building a "Levee for Life" out of books in order to raise money to rebuild the New Orleans Public Library system and to demand justice for the survivors of Hurricane Katrina. The Congressman will read from a book he suggested for the NOPL while making a financial donation to the library at Powells.com. Rep. Holt will discuss the federal response to Hurricane Katrina and the options for defeating increasing social inequality in the United States.
