ARONSOHN STATEMENT ON CURRENT VIOLENCE IN THE MIDDLE EAST


Following his attendance at yesterday's pro-Israel rally at the United Nations, Congressional Candidate Paul Aronsohn released the following statement:

"The United States govenment must speak with one voice in its support for Israel -- now more than ever -- and we must all speak with clarity and honesty as we seek to resolve the current crisis in the Middle East.

Simply stated, the terrorist organizations Hizballah and Hamas -- and their state sponsors Iran and Syria -- are solely responsible for the current escalation of violence. We must therefore hold them accountable. And we must recognize that Israel has not only the right to defend herself; she has the responsibilty.

Needless to say, these are challenging times for our friends in Israel. Their country is under attack. Their soldiers are being kidnapped and killed. And their already fragile way of life has been brutally disrupted again.

We Americans must know this, and we must remain vigilant and compassionate in our approach to them.

We must also know that thousands of our fellow Americans remain in the region -- thousands of Americans who have been put in harms way by Hizballah's brutality. We must pray for their safety and well-being."
