Rep. Pascrell assigned to Ways and Means panel

WASHINGTON (AP) --New Jersey Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr. was recommended Tuesday to serve on the powerful Ways and Means Committee by House Speaker-designate Nancy Pelosi.

The Democratic Steering Committee, which assigns members to committees, recommended several new committee assignments and appointed freshman members to at least one committee on Tuesday. The remainder of assignments were to be made later this month and in January. The full Democratic Caucus will vote to approve the assignments in January.

Pascrell, D-Paterson, will be one of nine new members of Ways and Means, considered one of the most powerful committees because it has jurisdiction over taxation issues.

2. Ihave seen him in action

at town meetings, he can really work his way around the odd protestors(mostly anti-abortioninsts who stand up and decalre they are for life instead of asking a question). Hemanages to move things along.

Maybe this means I will be getting things? Hmm what do I want? Maybe for the county to stop supporting the poor towns while a bunch of rich towns stay in other counties, relatively untouched by the porrer cities. Nah, that is a state issue. Less wasteful projects would be nice.
