I'm sure readers of this forum know the drill by now. More of the same courtesy of Christopher J. Christie -- the most corrupt, incompetent, idea-less bully to ever hold any political office in New Jersey, and quite possibly anywhere.
Meanwhile, as any and all services are cut, almost magically, property taxes continue to rise.
Layoff notices go out to 82 Jersey City police officers; demotion notices go to 12 supervisorsPublished: Thursday, December 30, 2010, 4:46 PM Updated: Thursday, December 30, 2010, 5:13 PM

"Layoff notices were sent today to 82 Jersey City police officers and seven civilians in the department while 12 police supervisors were issued demotion notices, signifying that state officials have approved the city's plan to trim the department's budget in order to address financial woes.
"This means the 45-day clock has begun to tick and Feb. 15 would be the deadline unless there is an agreement between the city and the police unions," Jerry DeCicco, president of the Jersey City Police Officers Benevolent Association, said this afternoon.
"As stated before, the mayor does not want to lay off any police officers and is hopeful that negotiations, which are still continuing, will produce a resolution that can avoid these layoffs from taking effect on Feb. 15th," Jennifer Morrill, press secretary for Mayor Jerramiah Healy, said.
Healy has said police layoffs can be avoided if the union agrees to two concessions. He wants them to accept a "pay lag" that would save the city $3.4 million and cost the officers nothing in the long run, as well as a one-time give-back of the $1,300 annual uniform allowance."You can read the full article at this link:
