His camp found out last week that many New Mexico voters apparently haven't placed 2008 politics at the top of their priority lists just yet.

The Chavez campaign emailed 30,000 Democrats around the state to invite them to take part in a Tuesday evening computer "town hall" meeting in which they could e-mail questions for Chavez to answer via video.

A Chavez spokeswoman said a total of 204 people logged on for the one-hour event.

It isn't that New Mexicans aren't interested in the 2008 election, it just we aren't interested in electing Mayor Marty to the U.S. Senate!

1. I met Mayor Marty today

I wasn't pleased with several of his answers

when I asked about drugs, he talked more cops, when I asked about drug education and treatment, he said there was no $$$

when I asked about oil field toxic pits, he thought they were a better idea than 'shipping the waste in tanker trucks several hundred miles to disposal sites as long as the pits were out in the middle of nowhere' and that 'if we regulate the oil field too much it will cost jobs'

I'd like to met Udall now......

2. I used to hang out with Marty many years ago...

and still like him personally, but as hard as I try to still like him politically, I just keep being more and more disappointed in him, and am supporting Udall all the way. Sorry, Marty...

3. I really wanted to like Marty Chávez!

I don't know him personally, but I wish his views were closer to mine. I would love to support a distant cousin, but what he says and does is too close to Heatherlite!
