1. On Election Day, each polling place will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. If you are in line at the polling place when the polls close, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO VOTE in the election. N.M. Stat. Ann. §§1-12-1 and 1-12-26 (2004)
2. If your name is on the signature roster YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO VOTE without providing proof of your identity or residence after signing your name, unless you are a first time voter who registered by mail and did not provide a copy of your identification with your application. §§ 1-4-5 and 1-12-10
3. YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO VOTE for president and vice-president if you are over 18 years old but moved from New Mexico to another state within 30 days of Election Day or moved to New Mexico more than 30 days prior to Election Day. §§ 1-21-2 and 3
4. If your name is not on the signature list for any reason or you are a first-time voter who registered by mail and you do not have identification YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO VOTE by provisional ballot in your county of residence after signing the signature roster. § 1-12-8
5. YOU HAVE A RIGHT to receive a replacement voter notification card if you lose your card and request a new card. § 1-4-14
6. If you are blind, physically disabled, cannot read or write, or read English well, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT to receive assistance when voting from anyone except a candidate, your employer or an agent of your employer, or an officer or agent of your union. §§ 1-12-12, 13 and 15
7. If the electronic machines break down and cannot be repaired or replaced, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO VOTE with an emergency paper ballot. §§ 1-12-43 and 1-12-50
8. If emergency paper ballots are used, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT to request and receive a replacement ballot before you cast your ballot if you make a mistake or “spoil” your ballot. § 1-12-62
9. If you have been convicted of a felony, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO VOTE after completing your sentence, including any period of probation or parole and re-registering to vote. § 1-4-27.1
10. YOU HAVE THE RIGHT to take up to two hours off from work to vote without penalty if you are scheduled to begin work before 9:00 a.m. or get off work after 4:00 p.m.; however, your employer may set the hours you may take off
from work to vote. § 1-12-42
11. When you are within 100 feet of the entrance to a building containing a polling place, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO WAIT TO VOTE (OR VOTE) without anyone electioneering or trying to influence your vote. § 1-20-16
