1. Check out Bandolier National Monument.
I am a recent arrival in NM, and have not had a chance to see even a fraction of what's here. I'm in Santa Fe, and there's tons of stuff here. If you belong to AAA, or have a friend who does, their guidebooks are a good start.

Have you tried a google search? That's often a good way to find even very obscure stuff.

3. Which part of the state do you plan to visit

The southeast quadrant of the state has the Mother of all Caves, the Carlsbad Caverns. Very, very impressive hole in the ground.

Also there is the White Sands National Mounment near Alamogordo. Lots, but I mean lots of pure white gypsum.

Nearby is the best-kept secret in New Mexico. Ruidoso.

Wherever you go, have a great time in New Mexico.

9. Agreed come visit some of the most beautiful places - our tribal lands
New Mexico is home to 13 federally recognized tribes. Most are pueblos and are open to the public to visit. Acoma is one of the oldest continually inhabited cities in North America. Their pottery is amazing. Taos is another great pueblo to visit. I encourage you to take advantage of this unique experience. In Albuquerque, you can check with the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center. On their web page you can view what events may be going on during your visit. Feasts days at the pueblos are a special time, a celebration that is open to the public. Please if you go, respect the culture, read and obey notices about picture taking and the like......and enjoy the state I call home!

5. Be sure to go to the Ghost Ranch
Georgia O'Keefe made it famous and the area surrounding it is incredibly beautiful! Then, get up to Taos, that's where my partner and I have a second home. No, not one of the fancy ones! A little adobe out on the mesa.

6. Chaco Canyon.
It's been many years since we visited there, but it was a breathtaking experience.

Then go to Albuquerque and eat at Mac's Steak-in-the-Rough. My favorite taquitos and guacamole on the planet!
