Texan wanting to help out in New Mexico
Hi, I'm a college student in Texas who doesn't start until Oct, so I have a few weeks in which I can volunteer for Kerry in New Mexico.

I would volunteer in Texas, but it's a lost cause here except for some of the congressional races.

If someone could point me in the right direction about how I can help out, I'd be very happy.

Thank you,

David

1. Try here
The Kerry website has a signup for travelers. You tell them when and where you can work and the campaign does the rest.

Thank you.

Arkansas is also a possibility as well.

Do you have experience with volunteering through this site?

I wish I knew Spanish better.

:(

3. Local races of interest
I'm all for travelling, of course, but if you want to stay at home, kindly consider directing your attention to:

- Houston area: Richard Morrison. Within 8 points of unseating Tom Delay. GO MORRISON!!!!
- Dallas area: Martin Frost. Got redistricted by the Rethugs out of his seat and is in a tough, tough race. Katy Huebner is also a really promising up and comer.
- Austin area: Don't know this area so well, have heard good things about Patrick Rose - state house, out of Dripping Springs.

Local candidates need help too! :) And we're gonna take Texas back... one race at a time!

I was thinking about helping out what's his name...Move On Hero...um.....Lloyd Doggett!

http://www.votedoggett.com/english/Default.asp

He represents Austin right now, but he was redistricted out of his district by Delay.

He'll be running in a new district though further South, and will probably win.

I'll likely help him when I'm back home...

Right now I'm basically only looking for an excuse to take a trip to New Mexico to do some photography, and help Kerry on the side hehe.

Has Cheney fucked up the state already with oil and gas developments?

That's the reason we need him out of there.

As a photographer, I know that we all need beauty to play in and pray in.

5. We could use you in Alamogordo
Hey, we're close to Ruidoso and Cloudcroft and White Sands...the most gorgeous variety of photographic landscapes there are. Please personal message me. Or call Otero County Democratic Party HQ at 505-437-8590. If I'm not there, leave a name & number where I can reach you. Phone banks, 'manning' headquarters, walking the precincts, voter registration.

6. Please stay and help Texans. We are making a difference. Work on line
for other states and help in person in Texas. Go knock on doors in the Sugarland area to unseat Delay. Thanks whatever you do.
