I have been avoiding MSM news in an effort to protect my sanity so have been listening to CD101.9 (light jazz) in the morning. I don't listen to much radio and almost never morning radio so maybe I just never caught this particular DJ but inbetween songs the guy is throwing out stuff like "it's God's will" and "Do you think erectile disfunction ads should air during the superbowl" and the this line:

No matter what your politics, you have to support Condileeza Rice for SOS ?!

Is there no escape from this propaganda? Could they simply play music and do the weather and NOT force this crap on their listeners? The classic rock station in New York is DJ'd by total RW dickheads and they play way too much Phil Collins (read: they play Phil Collins), way too much of the second string rock like Jethro Tull, Starship, etc.

1. Try 90.7 WFUV...
It's an independent radio station, officially Fordham University Radio, but the affiliation seems to be in name only.

They play a nice eclectic mix of music that you won't hear elsewhere -- Ani DiFranco, Lucinda Williams, Dar Williams, etc. -- along with no commercials and NPR news updates.

Most of all, the DJ's seem to tend toward the liberal end of the spectrum, even if they don't actively discuss politics.

2. 'cept for their new(ish) station ID
New York's JESUIT! university. They've been doing it for about 6 months, and it still cracks me up every time.

You can also catch Sunday mass if you're so inclined :P
