What are the prospects for defeating Bloomberg this year?

By friend in NYC told me a few months ago that Bloomberg's approval ratings were back up again. Do any of you New Yorkers have any information? Can Bloomberg be beat? Who are the Democratic contenders? Will they once again have another fractious primary?

1. He is very vulnerable.

His numbers had a slight blip, but that was from south of nowhere. He's been pushing for a West Side stadium for the Jets which would cost taxpayers $600 million, while at the same time cutting money for schools. He does not connect with people.

The leading Democratic hopeful is former Bronx Borough President Fernando Ferrer. Yes, the primary will probably be brutal, if enough candidates throw their hats into the ring.

2. It'll be another brutal Democratic primary....Insults will be traded,

names will be called. At least one of the losers will pout and refuse to endorse the winner. A minor candidate will probably endorse Bloomberg. He'll spend $50 million and hang on narrowly.

How the Hell does New York city wind up with Bloombergs, Guiliani, Beame, Koch etc? You'd think with 7 million people to choose from, they could do better than that.
