Bush budget would cut billions for New York, opponents say


WASHINGTON New York state would lose at least one (b) billion dollars annually in federal funding if changes to the government's health programs for the poor proposed by President Bush are enacted.

Under the new proposal, New York stands to lose the most in Medicaid, the federal-state program that provides health care to the poor.


Senator Charles Schumer says this is his 25th federal budget, and it's the worse he's ever seen for New York.

I find it highly unlikely much of bush's cuts will be voted in, most of the people on the hill want to be reelected.
He needs to start by overturning the tax cuts to his rich cronies to be taken seriously on his pledge to lower the deficit.

2. you know he was smirking and laughing while talking

about his freaking cuts. this city cant take anymore. we (the middle class) and some of us (me) the lower middle class cant make ends meet any more. the middle class is being squeezed out.

a family of 4 must make at least 57000 dollars to make ends meet in NYC. now there are really few jobs that pay that much for unskilled or undereducated people. even skilled people like people who draw blood and do ekg or xrays dont make that much. they make around 10 bucks an hour. thats disgusting and a disgrace in this city where rents start at 1000 dollars in the outer bouroughs.

so if you are a single mom or a stay at home mom you are so fucked. and now they are cutting HEAP!! i am not talking about me here but some people pay their own heat and its so expensive. HEAP is their only hope. there is no child care for working moms no services to help these families that make only 25 - 30 thousand dollars a year and even if you fall into the poverty line the help you get is pathetic.

now i have been predicting the crime will start to rise since 2001 and i saw it happening in the neighborhoods no one cares about. black and latinos get killed everyday and no one gives a shit. but i knew it would fall over into the white areas soon. and it did. see how fast we found the killer of the white girl that was shot the other day. amazing. well if something isnt done soon to help these young people and help their parents survive in this city. they are going to riot. and they are going to rob and they are going to kill and shit is going to hit the fan.

i have lived long enough to remember the 70's and 80s and remember what reagan did to the poor. how fucked up was shit in this city back then. crack was rampant. well soon there will be heroine. curtosy of afganistan.

sorry for my rant. just hate this administration and what they do to this city. and this mayor has the balls to want to run again?
