ALBANY, N.Y. -- New York's state Democratic Party is shaking up its staff and giving allies of Hillary Rodham Clinton more pull in how things are done.
State Democratic Chairman Herman Farrell said top Clinton advisers Howard Wolfson and Gigi Georges will be in charge of the New York party's communications and strategic planning.
Both Wolfson and Georges are top officials in the Glover Park Group, a consulting firm founded by former aides to President Bill Clinton.
The move by Clinton's allies to exert more influence in state party affairs comes as she gears up for a Senate re-election bid next year. Many Democrats and Republicans believe the former first lady will use the 2006 election as a stepping stone for a run for the White House two years later.
