NEW YORK — The husband of Westchester County District Attorney Jeanine Pirro counts as a client one of the 32 men accused last week of being members and associates of the Gambino crime family.
Robert Persico, 40, of Scarsdale, the owner of Mount Vernon-based Persico Contracting and Trucking, was one of 16 local men arrested in a sweeping indictment that federal prosecutors said has brought down the leadership of the notorious crime family.

The Pirro Group, a lobbying and consulting firm led by Albert Pirro Jr., includes Persico's company on a 60-client "representative" list on its Web site.
Pirro declined to be interviewed. In a statement faxed to The Journal News, he said, "One of my companies represented Persico Contracting and Trucking Corp. during a brief period in 2002 along with many other public and private corporations. At that time, the corporation had been approved as a qualified contractor by the state of New York."
Jeanine Pirro is expected to run this year for a fourth term as district attorney and is said to be a possible contender for state attorney general next year. Ann Marie Corbalis, a spokeswoman for the district attorney, declined to comment.

Folks, Jeanine Pirro is someone who (IMO) should be "swift-boated" if she decides to run for NY AG to replace Eliot Spitzer.
