Bloomberg may run on Liberal pary line
Mayor may seek 2nd Liberal dose

As he runs for a second term, Mayor Bloomberg is considering creating his own ballot line in the fall - and may relaunch the defunct
Liberal Party, sources told the Daily News.

Although the Liberal Party exists in name, it lost its ballot line in 2002 after failing to attract more than 50,000 voters in that year's gubernatorial election.

The party is now headed by former city Parks Commissioner Henry Stern, who confirmed yesterday that he met with Bloomberg campaign officials this month. "Many Liberal Party members hold the mayor in high regard," Stern said.

Resuscitating the line would require backers to collect 7,500 signatures across the city.
