Quick question for those of you familiar with NYC
How long is a cab ride from Grand Central Station to La Guardia Airport? I'm trying to plan a trip here, and I will be pressed for time.

Mapquest is not cooperating with me.

1. Depends on traffic and time of day
It could be anything from 20 minutes to an hour IMO.

2. I second that comment...plus one good accident can louse up all your
timing. Plan as MUCH time for the cab ride as possible.

4. Mucho Dinero....
a ride that might take one hour, from Grand Cental to La Guardia will take at least 3 hours or more. Take the train.

5. The shift change
can kill you. Try to avoid 3:30-6 PM.
Better yet, call Westin Times Square and have them schedule a sedan to pick you up at the hotel (8th&43rd). This will cost a bit more but is well worth it.
As a fellow Texan if you want to email me I will give you my Starwood # (Westin) and they will do anything for you.
Us Texians ain't ALL bad.

7. To save money, try the express bus
New York Airport Service runs a bus that leaves from its Park Avenue office, just across the street from Grand Central, and goes to LaGuardia. I think the fare is $12 or so. You're subject to traffic vicissitudes but the bus doesn't make any stops along the way, so it's not very much slower than a taxi. (The bus trip will take you a few minutes longer than a cab, if the bus stops at other terminals before yours.)

It's even cheaper to take the subway, but you have to get off in Queens and then take a bus from the subway stop to the airport, so it's the most time-consuming option.

8. from grand central it's easier to take the 4/5 3 stops to 125th
and pick up the m60 there. Of course the bus stops at a zillion locations around the airport, so i would take the subway to 125th and catch a cab from there (to avoid midtown traffic)

9. The M60 takes you into the airport.
The M60 fare is $2 and it operates every 10 minutes between 106 Street & Broadway in Manhattan and LaGuardia Airport in Queens.

The M60 travels on 125 Street in Manhattan and over the Triboro Bridge to LaGuardia, where it makes stops at all of the airport’s terminals.

The ride takes 40 minutes from the Upper West Side.

From the East Side of Manhattan, take the 4, 5 or 6 train to the 125 Street station for an easy connection to the M60.
