I went swimming in the Hudson River today!
I don't know if the water is naturally this warm, or if Indian Point is kicking out so much heat, but the water was awesome! Nice and warm, and clean.

Nothing ugly here except GE's PCBs and Indian Point's radiation.

Have you ever swam in the Hudson River?

1. Didn't Kramer go swimming in the Hudson?
anyone else remember that episode of Seinfeld?

Be careful - Kramer started a trend and the river became so crowded he couldn't do his laps.

lol

3. My Dad said he did as a boy
off the piers in Manhattan. That would have been in the 1920s/1930s. Imagine doing that now? lol

5. you can thank these folks for a lot of the progress that's been made . . .
in cleaning up the Hudson over the past 35 years . . .

http://www.clearwater.org/

I'm proud to have played a small part in getting this project going at its inception . . . that CLEARWATER is still sailing is a testament to the thousands who have supported her work over the past quarter century . . . and particularly to Pete Seeger, whose vision and determination made it all happen . . .

6. I'm a member, too. You know about RiverPool at Beacon?
www.riverpool.org

Hopefully, we'll also make that a reality.

7. wow . . . neat! . . . they did a great job cleaning up . . .
the Beacon waterfront and building a beautiful park . . . this project sounds like an extension of that effort, and unless I miss my guess, another one of Pete's ideas . . . :)

and Pete & Arlo in concert in October? . . . thanks for the info . . . they probably won't be doing many more concerts together, so this should be a "must see" for fans like me . . . gonna talk to some friends and maybe order up a block of tickets . . .
