Bloomberg's biggest liabilities
Edited on Fri Sep-30-05 10:09 AM by KurtNYC
- NYC gets $6 per person for Homeland Security efforts; Wyoming gets >$30 and yet Bloomberg's ads open with a line about he has fought in Washington to get us our fair share. So he failed?!

- Bloomberg was the single biggest donor to the campaign of GWB in 2004.

- Bloomberg oversaw the arrest of more 2,500 peaceful protestors (and people waiting for buses and delivering pizzas). They were held in a fire trap (abandoned bus depot)without lawyers, showers and without being charged for as long as 3 days. The Chicago riots in 1968 resulted in the arrest of ~600 people by comparison.

- After conducting polls showing that NYers did not want to host the (corrupt) 2012 Olympics, Bloomberg spent >$25-million in taxpayer funds to convince us that we DID want the Olympics.

- Bloomberg supported a move by the (ultra-corrupt) MTA to sell $1-billion worth of MTA (quasi-public)land for $100 million. This deal fell through and now the MTA has a $900 million surplus.

- Bloomberg is running a racial divisive campaign featuring African-Americans trashing Ferrer (a Puerto Rican American).

- Bloomberg has denied reasonable requests to hold large gatherings in city parks (rallys and protests) but turned Central Park over to the self-promoting whore Christo for 4 months.

- Bloomberg is again running the ultimate in astro-turf campaigns using employees of Bloomberg media to campaign for him and using paid actors to trash his opponent. Bloomberg finances his own campaign and is therefore accountable to no one.

I'm sure there are more...

1. Nicely summarized... but Fernando , et al. better get a clue fast.
They will not win this election with the wimpy, tentative campaign they are running. They MUST GO NEGATIVE.

Bloomberg gets fawning coverage from the $$$ media here and rewards these hacks with HUGE ad buys. Talk about an axis of evil.

Only hope for Ferrer is if he dumps his consultants ( gotta be the dumbest subculture in the universe: NYC DEM political consultants. 5 to 1 registration edge and they've lost three mayoral elections in a row.)
and stop trying to win by being a "nice guy".

Bloomberg can be beaten, but only if Ferrer goes out after him.

2. I don't live in NYC, but all my tv stations are out of NY.
I have ONLY seen negative ads from Bloomberg. In fact, the same goes for the governor's race in New Jersey. I haven't seen one Corzine or Ferrer ad yet.

Unfortunately, I'm afraid that the"I don't always agree with the guy, but ___" and the "I'm a democrat who's voting for ____" ads are going to be very effective.

3. He's a paternalistic, arrogant, "I know what's best for you, whiny
little asshole. That's one more for the list.

4. OK, I'll add one. His argument re. schools makes no sense.

1. He insists teachers accept low salaries and make work-rule concessions( 'cause their contract ties the hands of the principals... and by extension... Bloomberg's chancellor).

at the same time, with the aforementioned offending contract in place....

2. He claims that the schools have made "historic" progress, as evidenced by higher fourth grade test scores.

If the tests scores are legit ( they aren't), and if the schools have made historic progress ( they haven't) why do the teachers have to make work-rule concessions?
