NEW WINDSOR, N.Y. – One of the three cosmetics plant managers shot this week by a former employee died Friday, police said.
JoAnne Obrien, a 48-year-old office manager at Verla International, had been in critical condition since being shot in the head Monday in the nail polish factory's office in the Hudson Valley.
Two co-owners were also shot by Victor M. Piazza, who then shot himself to death, according to police.
Mario Maffei was released from the hospital. The condition of Robert Roth was not immediately available.
Piazza, 55, had been convicted and was fired from his job as a quality control manager last year after child pornography was found on his company computer.
