What happened to NYC's terra alert?
Just combed today's (Monday) NY TIMES, cover to cover. Nothing... that I can find , anyway. Lot's of stuff about candidate Bloomberg, though.

Folks, this was 'apocalypse now' in all the media on Friday. Remember? Bloomberg's "High Noon style press conference? Cops (100,000 dollars per yr. including perks) peering into garbage cans looking for bombs?

ABC radio had a quickie item this a.m. saying the FEDS had decided that there had been no plot.

But nothing in the Times. It's only MONDAY. Our attention spans can't possibly be that short. Where's the story?

1. Total Political Stunt for Bloomberg.
What's really insulting is that he thinks New Yorkers are stupid enough not to see through it.

3. What are Ferrar's chances of winning?
Are New Yorkers that smart? The latest polls suggest not as Bloomberg is 12% ahead.

4. Close to zero if he doesn't start making Bloomberg the issue.
The subway bomb terra that wasn't is a new low for Bloomberg and Co.

If Ferrer wastes what little $$ that he has with a few pitiful ads about how much he loves the city , he's a goner.

Only way to win is drive up Bloomberg's negatives. Period. Bloomberg's popularity rests on misperceptions about him.

If Fernando doesn't point this out, no one else will.

5. It's kind of the hell you know vs. the hell you don't know and
New Yorkers seem to be more comfortable with the former.

Bloomberg is an ass in so many ways, but at least he's competent. Many Democrats are in agreement with Ferrers political positions, but he's still not a ideal candidate and there is the fear that he's not strong enough to pull us through the tough times to come.

Besides, Bloomberg could buy and sell Ferrer and unfortunately, money talks in this town.

2. Hmmm.. did Bloomberg skip the debate in Harlem?
I can't remember now since this scary scary terror warning came right on the heels of that controversy. :sarcasm:

Check out this exchange:

Democratic mayoral hopeful Fernando Ferrer, who previously said New Yorkers have to take the mayor at his word, is now asking Bloomberg to explain.

Ferrer’s campaign said in a statement: “Now that we are no longer on high alert, it is appropriate for the mayor to tell us what he knew about the threat, when, and why he chose to act in the way he did."

In response to Ferrer, the Bloomberg campaign issued a statement accusing their opponent of politicizing a threat to the subway system, and called it a "sad and desperate measure from a sad and desperate campaign."
