Update: April 29th Logistics

Posted on the website:

The route and kick-off point for the march are still under negotiation. We will post details as soon as they become available on this website, so please check back here and/or sign up for April 29 email updates.

The march will start at noon; assembly will begin around 11am. It would be a good idea to plan to be in central Manhattan by at least 10:30am.

Is the Hotel Penn "central Manhattan" enough ? I thinking of taking the train from (Newport News) Va the Thurs before and stay at the Penn, across from Penn Station/Madison Sq Garden.

1. check your PM - I'm sending you hotel information
We're staying about 2 blocks away from Penn Station. Some other DUers are there. However, if it's not available, Hotel Penn is good

3. Thanks Lynne
Yes that was very helpful !

I'm a frequent NYC visitor, so anything between 33rd and the fifties (east and west) I'm very comfy with.

My concern now is that some of the hotel discount sites ARE RUNNING OUT OF ROOMS for that weekend. And those that are left are not cheap! Methinks they caught wind of the mighty mobilization !?

2. Every part of Manhattan is easily accessible
Even on Saturdays, you'll rarely wait more than 10 minutes for a subway or 20 for a bus. The full-fare is $2/ride and you might want to invest in a day pass, available at any subway station kiosk or vending machine. Your hotel's front desk should even have complimentary Metrocards - don't hesitate to ask.

Great info, now I have to book a room before the hotel prices double again! Heh.

Should be a great weekend, I'll be bookending it for museums and broadway too :hi:
