(Brian's one man show about growing up as a black kid in the nation's most racist suburb just closed here. It was the longest running one-man show in San Francisco. I'd go on teevee for it. :) )
BRIAN COPELAND NEWSLETTER
MAY 2006
Greetings from the Big Apple!
I’ve been here only three days and I’m homesick already.
Rehearsals on the Off Broadway production of GENUINE are
going very, very well, Bob Balaban (THE EXONERATED, WAITING FOR
GUFFMAN)) is a marvelous director and we’re really clicking
creatively on the show. I’m thrilled! The theater is
beautiful and intimate. A really wonderful place to see a solo
performer.
The show begins previews at the DR2 Theater in New York’s
Union Square on May 9. Opening night is May 17. There is a
special ticket price of only $25 for all shows thru May 22.
We are starting this show from scratch here and I need you
help!
Can you please forward this email to ten people you know in
the New York area and tell them about the show? Tickets can
be purchased online today at
http://search.telecharge.com/document.aspx?id=3015&doc=2&sort=8 .
There is also a link at www.briancopeland.com. As I said,
we’re starting the show from square one here and I really,
truly appreciate any help that you might be kind enough to
give me.
THE BOOK IS AVAILABLE!!
Hyperion will publish the memoir, NOT A GENUINE BLACK MAN,
nationwide on July 11. Order your copy from Amazon.com
today. Go to www.briancopeland.com and click the link to
preorder. Please, spread the word among your friends.
Lots of exciting things coming up in the next few weeks.
I’ll keep you posted as they are finalized.
Until then, thanks so much for your support over the last
26 months. It’s been a dream come true!
Talk at you soon,
