loved NY so much, i'm coming for more

Last year i posted some questions in this group before my first trip to new york city, we loved it so much that we have now booked another trip in august, and i am very excited to be going back. Unlike last time, we will actually be staying in new york and not in Secaucus.. this alone will make it even more wonderful.. Thanks agian to all of you who gave some wonderful suggestions for off the tourist path things to do, really added a more persoanl touch to the whole experience.

1. August in NYC?

I'm not looking forward to sweltering subways and sizzling streets.

The North Pole ... a nice August destination, ne c'est pas?

2. Central Park, The Bronx Zoo, American Museum of Natl History

Zabars, Little Italy, Madison Square Park, The Intrepid Museum, MOMA, The Metropolitan Museum, Tribeca, Chelsea, SOHO, Chinatown, The Upper West Side.

3. I'm sure we will..

Last year when we were in new york the temp was close to 99 (35-37c) for most of the trip (it was aug 9-16) it was insane.. we left a yankee game after 5 innings cause it was so hot.. I doubt it will be any worst then that.. but yeah, the trip after this one is definitely going to be in the fall :D

4. August is a tough month in NYC, but if you plan to go to places like

the Museums on the VERY VERY hot days it won't be too bad.
On the not as hot days, you can try the outside activities.
It will be great, I am sure.

The West Village, Chelsea Market, Washington Square Park,
You can take a walk along the farthest west side of Manhattan from the
West Village (or another starting point if you wish) to the tip of Manhattan along the water. The view is breathtaking.
Riverside Park, The shops on Madison Avenue,
The GreenMarket at Union Square.
