What about Pete King?????
To the best of my knowledge, no one is running against him. Dave dropped out and I haven't heard that anyone is opposing him. I'd love it if Suozzi got out of Spitzer's way and tried this. But we simply can't have one of Bush's buttboys run unopposed.

Democrats tap Mejias to take on Peter King

<http://www.newsday.com/news/local/longisland/politics/ny-lidems254755798may25,0,2096172.story?coll=ny-lipolitics-headlines>

May 25, 2006

Nassau Democrats yesterday nominated North Massapequa Legis. David Mejias as the challenger to 14-year Republican incumbent Rep. Peter King of Seaford.

Before 200 supporters at the party's convention last night, Mejias, 35, a lawyer who has served almost six months of his second two-year term as a county legislator, denounced King as a George W. Bush loyalist who no longer sees Long Island as a priority.

"He has abandoned the people of Long Island," Mejias told his fellow Democrats at the Long Island Marriott in Uniondale.

4. Dave Mejias
The Wikipedia page was vandalized. Dave's bio and other info were wiped out and the illegal immigration attack was put in.
Check out www.kingwatch.blogspot.com for more info on King and the race.
Dave will have his own website up very soon.
There is a findraising drive via Act Blue. The link is on the King Watch page.
